The new section automatically gets selected and you can immediately rename it. If you’re on the OneNote app, make sure you’re on the right notebook first. Right after that, you can then name the new section and leave it as it is. Then, you can either click the Add section link at the bottom of the sidebar or do a right-click on the sidebar and then New Section. To do so, make sure first you’re in the right notebook.
